Foster care means your child is placed outside your home while the case continues. This might be with
a foster family, a relative, or sometimes a group home. Foster care is usually temporary.
The goal in Massachusetts is reunification. The court and DCF want to see if you can correct the issues
that led to removal so your child can come home.
What should you do? – Visit your child regularly. – Complete your service plan. – Communicate with
DCF and your lawyer. – Stay focused on your child’s needs.
Next Steps: Foster care is not permanent. At Hounkanrin Legal Defense, I fight for parents working
toward reunification and hold DCF accountable. Contact me today to discuss your case
